Firefighting teams strive to contain forest blaze in Ras Al Harq

Muscat: Firefighting teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate are engaged in an extensive operation to suppress a significant fire that erupted on Wednesday evening, February 11, 2026. The blaze, which broke out in the rugged Ras Al Harq area of the Wilayat of Al Hamra, has been fueled by dry grass and wild trees across the mountainous landscape

CDAA said the response is being carried out in cooperation with Police Aviation, which is providing aerial support to help contain the blaze that has spread across scattered locations on higher ground in Ras Al Harq Mountain.

Efforts to extinguish the fire remain ongoing as teams work to prevent further spread and protect surrounding areas.
