Sur Industrial City celebrates Omani Industry Day

Sur: Sur Industrial City Madayn on Sunday marked the Omani Industry Day under the theme "From Oman to the World: Competitive Industry and Global Vision."

The event emphasised the growing stature of Omani products in regional and international markets, as well as their capacity for global competitiveness and expansion.

The programme included a review of the city’s significant developmental milestones and its function as an incubator for specialized industrial projects, alongside Madayn's role in strengthening local industries. Several working papers were presented, covering topics such as the Industrial Strategy 2040 and the role of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in enhancing industrial competitiveness.

Additionally, the presentations featured the Invest Oman platform and various digital services aimed at boosting local industry and encouraging investors to establish qualitative projects in the Sultanate of Oman, thereby enhancing In-Country Value. Another working paper addressed the private sector's role in supporting local industry and encouraging investment within this sector.

The celebration also highlighted pioneering manufacturing experiences within Sur Industrial City, most notably the launch of the first Omani ship bound for the Republic of Liberia. The vessel was manufactured entirely at a company factory in Sur Industrial City, a step that reflects the advancement of national engineering capabilities and their reach into new markets. The event also saw the unveiling of new products from various Omani companies.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Yahya Badr Al Maawali, Governor of South Al Sharqiyah and chief guest of the occasion, honored the supporting and participating entities.
