His Majesty receives telephone call from Iranian President

Muscat: His Majesty the Sultan received a telephone call from President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The telephone discussions reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and avenues for their enhancement, alongside an exchange on the latest developments and evolving circumstances, as well as ongoing efforts to achieve de-escalation. 

His Majesty reaffirmed the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to its principled position of neutrality, expressing Oman’s disapproval and unequivocal condemnation of the continued targeting of its territories and underscoring that all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard its security and stability.

Both sides further emphasised the imperative of ending the escalation and prioritizing the language of dialogue and diplomacy, in order to spare the region the ramifications of a conflict that threatens the security and stability of nations.
