Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced the precautionary closure of the Al Amerat-Bousher Mountain Road (Aqabat Al-Amerat) starting this evening. The decision comes in response to forecasts of heavy rainfall expected over the coming hours, which may create hazardous driving conditions on the steep pass.
Motorists are advised to use the Wadi Adai road as an alternative route until further notice. Authorities have reminded all drivers to adhere to preventive driving rules during the rain, including:
Reducing speed and maintaining a safe distance between vehicles.
Avoiding wadi crossings and low-lying areas prone to sudden flooding.
Following all traffic instructions issued by police patrols on the ground.
