Muscat: The 'Art and Place' event, hosted by Sultan Qaboos University until 9 April, offers a live interactive experience where artists become part of the artistic production process in front of the audience.
This provides a unique opportunity to observe the formation of artworks in their natural environment.
The event seeks to highlight the role of art in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability, support Omani artists, and facilitate cultural exchange with resident international artists.
Additionally, it aims to connect art with place and nature without compromising its environmental balance, offering an interactive artistic experience for university students and visitors.
Considered the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman, the event focuses on environmental art in a unique artistic experience that highlights the relationship between creativity and the environment, opening new horizons for contemporary artistic expression.
Eleven artists specialising in environmental art from the Sultanate of Oman are participating in the event, alongside international contributions from artists residing in Oman from Hungary, Algeria, and Egypt. This cultural convergence reflects the diversity of artistic visions and experiences.
