Muscat: The Ministry of Health, represented by the Quality Assurance Center, today launched the "Patient Safety Friendly Hospital Initiative." The initiative included the hospitals of Diba, Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, Masirah, Al Mazyunah, Taqah, Izki, and Al Jabal Al Akhdar, in a step aimed at strengthening the safety and quality system within health institutions across the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The launch of the initiative was held under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Salim Al Mandhari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Planning and Health Regulation.
The launch programme included the implementation of several training sessions and introductory workshops targeting focal points and facilitation committees concerned with patient safety in the participating hospitals. These sessions focused on reviewing the standards for applying the initiative's framework and the mechanisms for its practical and methodological execution, ensuring the achievement of the highest levels of institutional readiness.
The launch also featured specialized scientific and practical content presented by a group of specialists from the Ministry of Health. During these sessions, the accredited standards were explained and application requirements were clarified, contributing to raising the readiness of health institutions to adopt this initiative and enhancing the level of patient safety and the quality of healthcare services provided.
