MSX index ends higher

MSX index ends higher

Muscat: The MSX index closed at 8,315.93 points, up by 0.87%  from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by -0.77%  at 659.98 points. Financial Corporation, up 10.00%, was the top gainer while, Oman Fisheries, down 9.68%, was the top loser. Shares of Sohar International Bank were the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.

A total number of 8,424 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR115.46 million, with more than 375.95 million shares changing hands. Out of 85 traded securities, 37 advanced, 34 declined, and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR3,137,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR1,825,000, followed by domestic investors for OMR1,312000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 13,223.84 points, up 1.30%. Prices of Financial Corporation, Oman & Emirates Investment, Sohar International Bank, Bank Dhofar, Ahli Bank were up by 10.00%, 9.49%, 3.51%, 3.32%, 3.11% respectively. Prices of Al Batinah Development Company, Muscat Finance, Al Madina Takaful, Taageer Finance, Financial Services were down by 6.38%, 3.90%, 3.13%, 2.38%, 2.22% respectively.

Industrial Index closed at 10,154.72 points, down -0.25%. Prices of Construction Materials, National Biscuits, Dhofar Cattle Feed, Galfar Engineering, Oman Packaging were up by 9.33%, 8.38%, 7.69%, 4.79%, 3.55% respectively. Prices of Oman Fisheries, Oman Chlorine, Oman Chromite, Jazeera Steel Products, Al Anwar Ceramics were down by 9.68%, 4.55%, 2.89%, 2.44%, 1.45% respectively.

Services Index was up by 0.50% before closing at 3,245.26 points. Prices of Oman Oil Marketing, Shell Oman Marketing, Muscat Gases, National Gas, Al Jazeera Services were up by 10.00%, 6.67%, 5.30%, 4.72%, 2.66% respectively. Prices of Oman National Engineering, Abraj Energy, Al Batinah Power, Sembcorp Salalah, Renaissance Services were down by 2.56%, 1.29%, 0.99%, 0.89%, 0.73% respectively.
