Oman Sail’s Nawaf Al Ghadani appointed as National Race Officer at the 6th Asian Beach Games in China

Muscat: Experienced National Race Officer Nawaf Yaqoob Al Ghadani has been officially appointed by the Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF) as a National Race Officer and selected as part of the Technical Officials Team for the 6th Asian Beach Games, taking place in Sanya, China.

He will be among the Omani officials at the Games, reflecting the strong trust in Omani technical expertise and his extensive experience in race management.
Nawaf is one of Oman’s most experienced race officials with 13 years of officiating events in Oman, across the region and internationally, including every Mussanah Race Week and every Oman National Championship since 2016. He was also selected to be part of the Technical Officials Team for the Arab Sailing Championships, GCC Youth Games and GCC Beach Games, and major world events such as the Youth Sailing World Championships, 49er and 49erFX World Championships, ANOC World Beach Games, and the recent World Sailing Inclusion Championship held in Mussanah.

Abdulaziz Salim Al Shidi, Acting Sailing Director at Oman Sail, said, “We are all very proud of Nawaf’s selection and his achievements have helped to reinforce Oman’s standing in global sailing.

“The Asian Beach Games holds special meaning for Oman and Oman Sail. As hosts of the second edition in 2010, the event helped us to develop one of the best sailing facilities in Asia at Mussanah and host many regional and international events which has supported talented race officials and sailors to gain experience and represent the nation at all levels. We wish Nawaf all the best for the 6th Asian Beach Games in China this month.”

Sailing at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China, will take place from April 23–28, 2026, at Haihong Square, Sanya Bay. The competition features eight gold medal events across four classes: Foil Windsurfing, Optimist, ILCA 4, and Formula Kite. More information about the Games can be found on the official event website.
