EA decides to not allow tree pruning in Dhofar

Muscat: The Environment Authority(EA), has decided not to allow tree pruning this year in Dhofar Governorate.

In response to inquiries regarding the permissibility of pruning wild trees this year, the Environment Authority wishes to clarify that, due to the impact of the Al-Masarrat depression on Dhofar Governorate and the resulting significant growth and flourishing of wild trees and the renewal of their natural cycle before the Khareef season, it has been decided not to permit pruning this year, except in limited areas to be determined in direct coordination with specialists at the Directorate General of Environment in Dhofar Governorate.

The Authority urged everyone to adhere to the above and refrain from carrying out any pruning work without prior authorisation or coordination, in order to avoid legal repercussions and to preserve the sustainability of the vegetation cover and ecosystems in the governorate.
