
Khazaen: Investment in the food sector at Khazaen Economic City has reached approximately $470 million. The city also saw the signing of 26 investment agreements. This reflects the rapid growth the city is experiencing in attracting qualitative investments and enhancing the infrastructure that supports vital sectors.
In this context, Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and Dr. Khalfan Said Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, conducted a field visit to Khazaen Economic City today.
During the visit, the two ministers were accompanied by undersecretaries, officials, and specialists from both ministries to review the most prominent projects and existing investments in the city, with a particular focus on the Food City.
The visit commenced with a visual presentation highlighting the most important projects within Khazaen Economic City, emphasising initiatives related to the food security sector.
The delegation then conducted a field tour of the Food City, where they were briefed on several food factories and their roles in supporting supply chains and achieving self-sufficiency. The tour also included a visit to Silal Central Market, which serves as a national and international platform for the trade of vegetables and fruits to and from the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to an inspection of the modern logistics facilities that support storage, transport, and distribution operations.
This visit comes within the framework of the government's efforts to enhance the business environment and develop investments in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and to support the path of sustainable development in the Sultanate of Oman.
