At HM’s behest, Sayyid Bilarab inaugurates Greater Muscat Structure Plan

Muscat: Under Royal assignment, His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, presided over the official launch ceremony of the Greater Muscat Structural Plan at the Experience and Sales Center in Madinat Al Sultan Haitham, located in Seeb. The launch marks a major milestone in shaping the future urban development of Muscat, providing a strategic framework for sustainable growth, infrastructure development, and integrated urban planning across the capital region.

The structural plan is designed to guide the long-term expansion of Greater Muscat by enhancing land-use efficiency, improving connectivity, and supporting economic diversification in line with Oman’s national development priorities. The launch comes shortly after another international milestone, with the Greater Muscat Master Plan joining the Global Business Districts Innovation Club as its fifteenth international member and the first from the Middle East.

The membership reflects growing global recognition of Muscat as an emerging urban model that combines strategic planning, sustainability, quality of life, and investment readiness. It also places Muscat within a global network of leading business and innovation districts, including Paris La Défense, Chicago Loop, Toronto Waterfront, and Liverpool BID.
