Refinery output in Oman rises marginally by the end of March 2026

Muscat: Total refinery products in the Sultanate of Oman recorded a slight increase of 0.2 percent until the end of March 2026, while the production of motor fuel decreased by 9.3 percent compared to the same period in 2025.

Preliminary statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that the production of regular (91) octane gasoline decreased by 22.8 percent to reach 3.42 million barrels until the end of March 2026, compared to 4.43 million barrels during the same period in 2025.

Its sales also recorded a decrease of 1.5 percent, reaching 3.79 million barrels, compared to 3.85 million barrels in the same period last year. Its exports also decreased by 61.5 percent to reach 415,400 barrels, compared to 1.78 million barrels until the end of March 2025.

The production of premium (95) car fuel recorded an increase of 9.5 percent to reach 3.50 million barrels until the end of March 2026, compared to 3.20 millionbarrels during the same period of 2025.

Its sales also saw an increase of 5.9 percent, reaching 3,502,600 barrels, compared to 3,306,500 barrels in the same period last year.
Gas oil (diesel) production recorded a slight increase of 0.3 percent, reaching 18.11 million barrels by the end of March 2026, compared to 17.95 million barrels during the same period in 2025.

Its sales also increased by 5 percent, reaching 4,434,100 barrels, compared to 4,223,600 barrels in the same period last year. Its exports also increased by 0.8 percent, recording 14,886,900 barrels, compared to 14,761,900 barrels up to the end of March 2025.

In contrast, jet fuel production recorded an increase of 8.4 percent to reach 6,684,100 barrels by the end of March 2026, compared to 6,165,700 barrels during the same period in 2025.

Its sales also witnessed growth of 19.9 percent to reach 1.127 million barrels, compared to 940.100 barrels in the same period last year, and its exports increased by 7.6 percent to reach 5.448 million barrels, compared to 5.064 million barrels up to the end of March 2025.

As for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production, it recorded a decrease of 6.1 percent to reach 2,678,500 barrels, compared to 2,853,500 barrels during the same period in 2025.

Its sales also increased by 1.7 percent, reaching 994,900 barrels, compared to 978,400 barrels in the same period last year, while its exports recorded a decrease of 2.1 percent to reach 824,500 barrels, compared to 842,400 barrels up to the end of March 2025.

Naphtha production witnessed an increase of 1.1 percent to reach 9.12 million barrels by the end of March 2026, compared to 8.90 million barrels during the same period in 2025. Its sales also increased by 13.3 percent, reaching 3.61 million barrels, compared to 3.18 million barrels in the same period last year. Its exports, recorded a decrease of 2.9 percent, to reach 5.92 million barrels, compared to 6.10 million barrels by the end of March 2025.

Production of other refinery products rose by 3.5 percent to 10,053,900 barrels, compared to 9,712,000 barrels during the same period in 2025.

Meanwhile, its sales declined by 18.9 percent, reaching 7.37 million barrels, compared to 8.67 million barrels in the same period last year.

Its exports achieved a significant jump of 46.1 percent, reaching 3.81 million barrels, compared to 2.60 million barrels until the end of March 2025.

Statistics showed that gasoline production increased by 17.6 percent, reaching 52,600 metric tonnes, compared to 44,700 metric tonnes during the same period in 2025.

Its exports also increased by 10.5 percent, reaching 47,900 metric tonnes by the end of March 2026, compared to 43,300 metric tonnes in the same period last year.

Paraxylene also achieved a 14.3 percent growth in production, reaching 160,500 metric tonnes by the end of March 2026, compared to 140,400 metric tonnes during the same period in 2025.

Its exports recorded a decrease of 6.6 percent, reaching 161,100 metric tonnes, compared to 172,600 metric tonnes in the same period last year.

Polypropylene production fell by 34.8 percent to 51,100 metric tonnes, compared to 78,500 metric tonnes during the same period last year.

Its domestic sales witnessed a remarkable increase of 26.6 percent, reaching 9,600 metric tonnes, compared to 7,600 metric tonnes in the same period of 2025.

Meanwhile, its exports declined by 22.8 percent, reaching 47,200 metric tonnes, compared to 61,200 metric tonnes in the same period of 2025.
