Muscat: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) concluded its band competition for the year 2026 on Wednesday.
The concluding ceremony was held under the auspices of Maj. Gen Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman. The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the RAO Music at Al Murtafa'a Camp.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Commander of the Royal Army of Oman, the chief guest, inaugurated the identity of the RAO Music, which affirms support and the boosting of morale in the fields of pride and honor.
Subsequently, the chief guest listened to a briefing on the competition and its envisioned objectives. The musical bands participating in the competition then presented various musical performances that showcased high levels of competition in performance and skill, reflecting the high efficiency and capabilities of the personnel of the RAO Music.
At the conclusion of the event, the Commander of the Royal Army of Oman honored the top achievers in the competition.
The organisation of the band competition is intended to maintain the technical standards of the musical bands of the Royal Army of Oman and to provide them with distinguished personnel to participate in regional and international musical competitions.
