Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 125th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The meeting was held on Thursday via videoconference.

The Sultanate of Oman was represented during the meeting by Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed recommendations from the GCC Undersecretaries of Finance Ministries Committee. These recommendations addressed outcomes from meetings of the GCC Central Bank Governors Committee, the Joint Gulf Market Committee, the Customs Union Authority, and the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Departments in GCC states.

The meeting also examined progress in free trade agreement negotiations between GCC states and other countries and international blocs. Updates on achieving Gulf economic unity were similarly discussed.

Oman’s participation in these meetings falls within the framework of enhancing financial and economic integration among GCC states, promoting economic stability, and responding to regional and international developments. These efforts serve the aspirations of the GCC states and their peoples.
