Forum reviews plans aligned with Oman Vision 2040

Nizwa: The Development Planning Forum in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate reviewed mechanisms for empowering local administrations to prepare development plans and projects according to modern planning methodologies aligned with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan.

This initiative is part of the Governorate’s efforts to enhance administrative decentralisation and improve the efficiency of development planning at the wilayats level.

The forum is being held over two days at the Recreation Centre in the Wilayat of Manah. The opening of the event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Mahmoud Rashid Al Saadi, Wali of Nizwa and acting Governor of A’Dakhiliyah.

This step reflects the Governorate’s direction towards strengthening institutional integration and standardising development planning methodologies.

The forum aims to build the capacities of personnel specialising in planning and local development, enabling them to employ modern planning tools and methodologies in preparing development plans and proposing projects.

It also seeks to enhance institutional integration among various entities concerned with local development, thereby supporting development decisions grounded in scientific foundations and realistic indicators.

Furthermore, the forum strives to improve planning practices at the local level and promote a culture of strategic planning based on data and indicators.

This contributes to raising project implementation efficiency and achieving optimal utilization of available resources and capabilities.
