Muscat: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) launched the "Turs" (Shield) platform to enhance the digital protection system and elevate readiness for responding to electronic risks.
This initiative comes within the framework of TRA’s continuous efforts to develop the digital security system and promote a safe and reliable digital environment that keeps pace with rapid technological transformations. The platform is an advanced digital project dedicated to managing, tracking, and monitoring reports related to electronic fraud and digital risks.
The platform relies on the latest digital technologies in addressing electronic fraud through a unified system designed to receive reports, analyze digital data, monitor fraudulent patterns, and handle digital risks in accordance with advanced operational mechanisms that support rapid decision-making and enhance integration with relevant authorities.
The "Turs" platform monitors and follows up on various harmful electronic practices, including tracking suspicious local and international numbers, analyzing malicious electronic links, detecting phishing messages, and handling offensive accounts or accounts with offensive comments on social media. Additionally, it tracks digital content that violates societal values and misleading electronic publications, ensuring these practices are addressed with high efficiency.
