Muscat: Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has successfully resolved a complaint between a consumer and a vehicle dealership in Al Buraimi Governorate, resulting in the replacement of the customer’s vehicle with a newer model through an amicable settlement.
According to the CPA, the consumer had purchased a new 2025-model vehicle. After taking delivery and inspecting the vehicle, the customer identified several issues, including steering wheel misalignment, instability while driving, as well as scratches and paint marks on parts of the vehicle's exterior.
Following the complaint and the CPA’s intervention, both parties reached a mutually agreed settlement. Under the agreement, the dealership replaced the defective vehicle with a new 2026-model vehicle, while the consumer paid the difference in value between the two models.
The authority said the dispute was resolved amicably, underscoring its commitment to protecting consumer rights and facilitating fair resolutions between consumers and businesses.
