
Salalah: HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, emphasised the importance of enhancing partnership and integration with various work sectors and community institutions, as well as benefiting from the views and proposals of Shura Council members to support development efforts in the governorate.
This came during a meeting on Tuesday at the Office of the Governor of Dhofar between the Governor and the Shura Council members representing the governorate's wilayats, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Mohsin Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, and several officials from the governorate.
At the outset of the meeting, the Governor explained that the governorate adopts the principle of partnership and continuous coordination with various entities and societal groups, paying great attention to the ideas and proposals presented by Council members as an important supporter for the governorate's development process.
The meeting reviewed several introductory presentations. The first addressed key aspects related to service affairs in Dhofar Governorate during the first half of 2026, while the second presentation reviewed the work and achievements of the Governorate's Municipal Council during its third term. The third presentation covered the initiatives, achievements, and projects executed and planned by Dhofar Municipality during the current year.
The meeting also included a visual presentation on the Comprehensive Strategy for Dhofar Governorate, which is based on six main pillars: human resource development, promoting economic diversification, improving the business and investment environment, sustainable urban planning and humanizing cities, social and cultural development, and environmental sustainability.
Participants also viewed a presentation on key Dhofar Municipality projects, which included road and lighting projects, the "Shaat Viewpoint" project, alongside projects for rehabilitating and beautifying several heritage and tourist sites, as well as other executed and ongoing projects across various wilayats of the governorate.
The meeting witnessed an extensive discussion during which views, ideas, and proposals were exchanged between the Governor of Dhofar, the Shura Council members and governorate officials. The discussion covered a number of topics related to development and service affairs, with participants emphasising the importance of continuing the approach of integration and coordination among various entities to enhance the execution of development projects and meet citizens' needs and aspirations.
