Muscat: Oman is expected to experience above-average temperatures and below-average rainfall during August 2026, according to the latest seasonal outlook issued by the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre.
The August seasonal bulletin forecasts that rainfall across the Sultanate is likely to remain below the long-term climatic average, while temperatures are expected to stay higher than normal throughout the country.
The CAA said the bulletin forms part of its Seasonal Expectations for the Current Month and the Coming Months (August–September–October 2026), providing an early indication of expected weather patterns over the longer term.
The authority explained that the seasonal bulletins are issued every month as a preliminary outlook to provide an initial picture of expected weather conditions in the coming months.
However, it stressed that these forecasts do not replace the importance of following short- and medium-range weather bulletins, which provide more detailed and updated information for day-to-day planning.
The monthly seasonal outlook is intended to help government agencies, businesses and the public prepare for anticipated climatic conditions while complementing, rather than replacing, regular weather forecasts.
