Rummana Season opens in Jabal Akhdar, offers sustainable farm tourism experience

Jabal Akhdar: The fourth edition of the “Rummana” season opened on Saturday at Janain Farm in the village of Saih Qatna in Jabal Akhdar, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

Running until September 2026, the seasonal event offers visitors an agricultural tourism experience featuring the opportunity to explore the farm and pick fresh figs and pomegranates directly from the trees during their harvest season.

Organized by Tibi Company and Janain Agricultural Tourism Development Company, in partnership with Omran Group, the event seeks to promote sustainable agricultural tourism, support rural communities and make greater use of the agricultural assets of Oman’s Green Mountain.

The event features a plant nursery showcasing local species, an Omani heritage corner displaying traditional products, a café and a platform offering fresh local products made from produce grown in the Green Mountain.

Amjad bint Khalid Al Maawali, CEO of Tibi Company, said the fourth edition builds on the success of previous seasons and reflects the company’s efforts to create authentic agricultural tourism experiences connected to the land, its seasons and Omani heritage.

She noted that new experiences are introduced each year, ranging from fruit picking and discovering local products to exploring traditional Omani culture, with the aim of strengthening visitors’ connection with the agricultural heritage of the region.

The Rummana season forms part of broader efforts to transform the natural and cultural assets of Jabal Akhdar into distinctive tourism experiences and further enhance Oman’s position as a leading tourism destination in the region.
