Oman continues monitoring repercussions of tanker grounding incident

Muscat: The National Committee for Emergency Management is monitoring the repercussions of the fuel tanker grounding incident off Al Qibliya Island, one of the Al Hallaniyat Islands.

The Committee has been partially activated through its sectors for hazardous materials handling, essential services and media and public awareness, in order to follow up on developments and the efforts being undertaken by the relevant authorities.

Sub-committees of the National Committee for Emergency Management have also been activated in Al Wusta Governorate and South A’Sharqiyah Governorate to directly address any further developments related to this incident.
