Omani Society for Human Resource Management forum discusses future of work

Salalah: The activities of the sixth forum of the Omani Society for Human Resource Management commenced today in Salalah under the theme "People First: Impact Starts with People."

The two-day event features the participation of several executive leaders, experts, and specialists in the fields of leadership, human capital, institutional development, and digital transformation from within the Sultanate of Oman and abroad.

The opening of the forum was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

In his speech, Faisal Hamoud Al Siyabi, Chief Executive Officer of the Omani Society for Human Resource Management, affirmed that the selection of the theme "People First" stems from a firm conviction that the human element is the most influential factor in the success of institutions. He pointed out that the society continues its mission as a national platform that contributes to building innovative work environments.

The forum witnessed a panel discussion titled "How to Bring People Back to the Heart of Institutional Decisions," featuring the participation of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar; Taher Mabkhout Al Junaibi, Governor of A’Dhahirah; and Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah. The session was moderated by Dr. Ghalib Saif Al Hosni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the society. It addressed the role of the human element in decision-making and the alignment between institutional development and future requirements.

The programme included the presentation of several working papers covering various topics. These included "Institutional Intelligence" by Said Abdullah Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development; "Transitioning from the Digitalization of Services to the Humanization of Digital Systems and Services" by Dr. Ahmed Mohsen Al Ghassani, Chairman of the Dhofar Municipality; "Resilient Leadership in an Era of Transformation" by Hanan Abdulrahman Al Saif, General Manager of ZRG Partners Arabia Ltd.; and "Strategic Dialogues for the Future of Work and People" by Mohammed Othman Al Aiban, Senior Vice President of Human Capital at the Saudi Environment Fund.

Additionally, a paper on "Human Capacity Building from a Training Perspective" was presented by Faisal Abdullah Al Nahdi, Director of the Training and Development Center at the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority.

This was presented alongside a paper titled "Human Capital: From an Operating Cost to a National Value" by Noura Abdulmohsen Al Raaidan, and another titled "The Family as the Core of Protection and Empowerment" by Radhiya Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Director General of Social Protection Policies at the Social Protection Fund.

The forum aims to highlight the importance of investing in human resources, review the latest practices in developing the employee experience, and exchange expertise between the public and private sectors, in addition to discussing the impact of digital transformation on the future of work.
