SPF Investment unit gains GIPS verification

Muscat: The Investment Unit of the Social Protection Fund (SPF) has obtained independent verification of compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS), issued by the CFA Institute.

This milestone reflects the Unit’s commitment to adopting internationally recognised best practices in investment management and performance measurement, while strengthening transparency, governance, and the credibility of its investment reporting.

The GIPS standards are globally recognised voluntary standards that provide a standardised framework for calculating and presenting investment performance based on the principles of full disclosure and fair representation.

Widely adopted by leading asset owners and investment managers around the world, the standards enhance the reliability and comparability of investment performance reporting and support greater transparency for stakeholders.

Commenting on the achievement, the Head of the Investment Unit of the Social Protection Fund, Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Wahaibi, said: “Obtaining independent verification of compliance with the GIPS standards marks an important milestone in the Investment Unit’s practices with internationally recognized standards and further strengthen governance in the management of the Fund’s assets.

“This achievement enhances the credibility of our investment reporting, supports more informed investment decision-making, and reinforces stakeholders’ confidence in our investment management practices.

“It also reflects our commitment to continuously adopting global best practices in asset management and investment performance measurement.”
