Wadi Al Tayeb flow cuts traffic between Rustaq and Ibri

MUSCAT: Wadi Al Tayeb in the Wilayat of Rustaq, South Al Batinah Governorate, is currently experiencing flowing water following rainfall, resulting in the interruption of traffic on the road linking the wilayats of Rustaq and Ibri.

The Royal Oman Police urged road users to exercise caution and remain alert to changing road conditions.

The Directorate General of Meteorology said the latest weather radar images showed that rainfall of varying intensity continues over the Al Hajar Mountains in areas between North Al Batinah and Al Dhahirah Governorates.

The rainfall is accompanied by strong downdraft winds and hail, the meteorological authorities said.

The Directorate General of Meteorology also warned of the possibility of low clouds and fog forming during the late night and early morning hours, potentially reducing horizontal visibility in parts of the coastal areas overlooking the Sea of Oman, as well as parts of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar Governorates.

Authorities urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly in areas affected by rainfall, flowing wadis and reduced visibility, and to follow official safety instructions.
