Sultanate takes part in GCC ministerial meeting in New York

New York: The Sultanate took part in the GCC Ministerial Council meeting at the premises of the Saudi Permanent Delegation to the UN in New York.
The meeting was organised to complete the businesses of the 140th session of the GCC Ministerial Council under the chair of the Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al Jubeir, chairman of the current session.
The Sultanate’s delegation to the meeting was led by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs.
The meeting discussed a number of topics listed on the agenda including the meetings that will be held in New York with foreign ministers and the international economic groups within the framework of the existing strategic dialogues between the GCC and these countries and international groups on the Arab , regional and international issues.
The GCC ministers also discussed coordinating the GCC stances towards issues listed on the agenda of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly.
The GCC Ministerial Council issued a statement in which it reviewed the developments of the Gulf joint action, as well as the developments of the political, regional and international issues.
The GCC Ministerial Council hailed the outcomes of the 16th consultative meeting for the GCC leaders which was held on May 31, 2016, as well as the decisions that will contribute to enhancing joint work and enhancing security and stability in the region. -ONA
