Environment Authority returns over 130 tonnes of cleaned sand to Salalah coast

Muscat: The Environment Authority in the Dhofar Governorate has returned 135 tonnes of oil-treated sand to the beach of Salalah after laboratory testing confirmed the material was completely free of oil derivatives. This initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to rehabilitate affected coastal areas and restore local ecological balance.

The operation was conducted in collaboration with Arva Greentech Remediation, a specialised firm holding a patent for restoring contaminated sand to its natural properties and safely reintegrating it into the coastal environment.
