Oman to showcase pharmaceutical investment opportunities at Milan Exhibition

Muscat: The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) will participate in the Milan Pharmaceuticals Exhibition 2026, which opens in Milan, Italy, next Tuesday for three days.

The participation reflects Oman’s efforts to establish specialised industrial clusters for pharmaceutical and medical device industries within economic, free and industrial zones, supporting pharmaceutical security, localising production and attracting quality investments.

The OPAZ delegation is headed by Ahmed bin Hassan Al-Dheeb, Vice Chairman of the Authority, and includes representatives from government and private sector entities.

During the exhibition, the delegation will highlight investment opportunities and incentives available to global companies in Oman’s economic, free and industrial zones. Meetings will also be held with manufacturers and investors to explore potential projects and partnerships, while highlighting Oman’s strategic location, infrastructure and logistics capabilities and its access to regional and international markets.

OPAZ’s participation, alongside Oman Exports, comes amid growth in Oman’s pharmaceutical and medical industries, including the development of local companies’ capabilities, stronger competitiveness and expanding exports to international markets.

The participation also seeks to promote Omani pharmaceutical and medical products, strengthen the presence of Omani companies in global markets, identify new export opportunities, establish trade partnerships with international buyers and importers, and showcase the sector’s industrial and investment capabilities.

OPAZ, in coordination with relevant authorities, developers and operators, is working to develop specialised industrial clusters capable of attracting local and international companies and creating an integrated investment ecosystem supporting manufacturing, storage, distribution and export activities.

The clusters are also intended to provide an enabling environment for the growth of pharmaceutical and medical industries and related activities.
