ROP arrests two Arab nationals for defrauding citizen of OMR29,000

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), in cooperation with the Directorate General of Investigations and Criminal Research, have arrested two Arab nationals on charges of defrauding a citizen of OMR29,000 by claiming they could multiply the victim’s money and generate financial profits.

The arrests were made by the North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command, the ROP said.

The police stressed the importance of raising public awareness to prevent fraud and extortion by adopting precautionary measures, avoiding suspicious promises of quick and unrealistic profits, and not responding to claims made by fraudsters.

The ROP urged members of the public to report fraud attempts immediately by calling the emergency hotline at 80077444.
