Al Musanaa-- The annual naval exercise "Sea Lion 2026" kicked off at the Said bin Sultan Naval Base in the Wilayat of Al Musanaa today.
The exercise, which will run until 29 October 2026, is being conducted by the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO).
The exercise began with a briefing outlining the training objectives, namely steps to enhance the combat proficiency of the participants and upgrade their levels of readiness and preparedness. These objectives are achieved through comprehensive training programmes and field drills that simulate different operational situations and scenarios.
The exercise is part of the Royal Navy of Oman’s annual training plans designed to maintain high levels of readiness across its fleet and personnel, in line with the national missions entrusted to the naval force.
