Al Mazunah forum to boost Oman-Yemen trade and investment

Al Mazunah– The second edition of the Al Mazunah Economic Exhibition and Forum will open on Monday at the Al Mazunah Free Zone in Dhofar Governorate, bringing together around 50 exhibitors from government entities, private companies, investors and entrepreneurs from Oman and Yemen.

The event, organised by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), will run until November 4 under the auspices of Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones.

Ahmed bin Khamis Al-Kasbi, Director General of Al Mazunah Free Zone, said the second edition builds on the inaugural event by strengthening communication between investors, traders and investment support institutions, with a focus on translating discussions into practical cooperation and projects that boost bilateral trade.

He noted that the free zone’s strategic location along the Oman-Yemen border provides a competitive environment for commercial and investment activities. Managed by Madayn under the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, the zone is working to simplify procedures, strengthen coordination with relevant authorities and develop the logistics services and facilities required by investors.

Al-Kasbi said the forum would showcase investment opportunities and enable investors to present proposals for suitable investment and operational models. The exhibition and bilateral business meetings will also help companies explore partnerships, strengthen commercial ties and pursue potential deals and agreements.

The event aims to expand trade and investment cooperation between Oman and Yemen, highlight the incentives and facilities available at the free zone, and provide a platform for businesses to establish partnerships and access new markets.

Participating companies from the industrial, services, import and export sectors, along with automotive businesses and car showrooms, will showcase their products and services.

The forum’s programme includes working papers on Al Mazunah Free Zone as a gateway for regional investment, customs and sovereign procedures, transportation, communications and supply chains.

A panel discussion will also examine investment incentives and enabling factors in the region, with participation from representatives of Madayn, the Tax Authority, the Directorate General of Customs and authorities responsible for land transport.

The exhibition will bring together organisations operating in industry, trade, logistics, automotive, food and communications, providing opportunities to explore commercial partnerships and expand business activities in the Yemeni market.

The organisers expect the event to support sustainable investment, generate economic value and reinforce Al Mazunah Free Zone’s role as a strategic gateway for trade and investment between Oman and Yemen.
