International Conference on Computing, Data Analysis concludes in Salalah

Salalah: The 3rd International Conference on Computing and Data Analysis, organised by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah, concluded its proceedings on Thursday in the Wilayat of Salalah with six recommendations.

Most notably, these recommendations included strengthening national cyber resilience by accelerating the adoption of zero-trust architecture and preparing for post-quantum cryptography in Omani institutions and infrastructure.

The conference also recommended ethical artificial intelligence and academic governance, represented by adopting clear policies for disclosing the use of artificial intelligence in higher education institutions, enhancing faculty members' artificial intelligence literacy, and managing the risks of unapproved information technology.

It recommended climate-adaptable agricultural technologies in terms of expanding the application of digital twin models to improve the management of crop water requirements and support food security in arid environments.

It recommended healthcare while preserving privacy by deploying homomorphic encryption and federated learning to enable secure analysis of clinical data across multiple medical centers.

It also recommended green edge computing through the application of radio frequency energy harvesting techniques, model reduction on edge Internet of Things devices, and optimising electric vehicle charging network structures.

The recommendations concluded with knowledge transfer between industry and academia, represented by allocating business incubator funding to transform academic theoretical simulations and prototypes into commercially viable solutions applied on the ground.
