MUSCAT: Muttrah Teleferik has announced the soft opening of the Muttrah Cable Car to the public from Sunday, November 8, offering visitors a new way to explore the historic waterfront and surrounding hills.

During the soft launch period, the service will operate from 1pm to 8pm from Sunday to Wednesday, with the last ticket sales and boarding at 7pm. From Thursday to Saturday, operating hours will be 3pm to 10pm, with the last ticket sales and boarding at 9pm.

Tickets can be purchased through the project's mobile application or at ticket kiosks at the stations.

Ticket prices for Omani citizens and residents are OMR8.400 for adults and OMR4.200 for children aged two to 11. For tourists, tickets cost OMR10.800 for adults and OMR5.040 for children in the same age group. VIP cabin tickets are priced at OMR30 per person for adults and children aged two and above.

The cable car system comprises 18 cabins, including two VIP cabins, each accommodating up to eight passengers. The service has a capacity of 800 passengers per hour.

The route connects three stations, starting at Port Station, located between Muttrah Fish Market and the Muttrah Waterfront project. The station will serve as the main entry point for visitors and includes ticketing and reception facilities, cafes and other services.

The cable car will then travel to Summit Station, located between Muttrah Fort and Al Riyam Park, before ending at Hay Al Ward Station inside Al Riyam Park, near Muscat Gate.

Spanning approximately three kilometres, the project is expected to add a new tourism and entertainment attraction to Muscat, offering panoramic views of Muttrah Bay, the surrounding mountains and the sea, alongside cultural and leisure experiences at its stations.
