Oman accident: Six injured as cars pile-up near airport road

Muscat: Six persons were injured in a five-vehicle pile-up on the Sultan Qaboos Highway near the airport.
The accident created a gridlock for almost an hour. One of the vehicles involved in the accident knocked out a lampost. Subsequently, the Royal Oman Police closed the road for some time to clear the debris.
Traffic was also backed up on the opposite carriageway as debris spilled over the median and motorists slowed down to have a look at the crash site. A Royal Oman Police spokesman said the officers supervised the clear-up operation.
