Workshops to discuss growth strategies for Oman's, agriculture and fisheries minister

Muscat: Challenges facing the fisheries sector and plans to overcome them will be discussed during the workshops (labs) on the sector which will kick off on September 17, Dr. Fuad bin Jafar Al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries has said.
The workshops (labs) will be held within the Sultanate’s 9th five -year development plan (2016-2020) for enhancement of economic diversification.
In a statement, Dr. Al Sajwani said that the Ministry has worked on mechanisms of the labs and related arrangements through the coordination committee and has held regular meetings for the commencement of such labs.
The workshops would discuss the challenges facing the fisheries sector, implementation of action plans and their monitoring in accordance with specific performance indicators with the participation of a number of government departments and private sector institutions, he added.
