U.S. President Donald Trump urges people in Hurricane Irma's path to 'get out of its way' U.S.
President Donald Trump has urged people in Florida to find safety as Hurricane Irma approaches.
In a video from Camp David, Trump asked people to stay out of the way of the storm's path and said he was "monitoring the situation around the clock."
"We're as prepared as you can be for such an event," he added.
Irma is expected to rip through Florida's southern archipelago on Sunday morning as a Category 4 storm, the second-highest designation on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
Wind gusts near hurricane force began to batter the Florida Keys late on Saturday, the National Hurricane Center said.
