Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower will celebrate the graduation of 6,472 students from the Sultanate's seven technical colleges, starting today. The graduations begin on October 23 and will run until November 15.
On Monday, 1,135 students from Nizwa College of Technology will graduate under the patronage of Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sarmi, undersecretary at the Ministry of Higher Education.
Ibra College of Technology will then celebrate the graduation of 715 students on October 25, under the patronage of Dr. Hamad bin Sulaiman Al Ghuraibi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Regional Municipalities.
On October 30, Al Musannah College of Technology will see 615 students graduate under the patronage of Sheikh Saba'a bin Hamdan Al Saadi, secretary-general of the Supreme Committee for National Day celebrations. And other 456 students will graduate from Ibri College of Technology, under the patronage of Sheikh Saif bin Humair Al Shehhi, governor of Al Dhahirah.
The celebrations continue in Shinas till November 6 when 633 students will graduate under the under the patronage of Sheikh Hamad bin Hilal Al Ma'amari, undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture for Cultural Affairs. 653 students from Salalah College of Technology under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Mustahil Shammas, governor of Al Sharqiyah South, will also graduate.
The Higher College of Technology will conclude with the graduation ceremonies by graduating 2,265 students in two phases under the patronages of Eng. Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Dr. Khalid bin Salim Al Saidi, secretary general of the Council of State.
These seven faculties offer 35 programmes in the fields of engineering, information technology, business studies, applied sciences, pharmacy and fashion design.
