Muscat: More than 1,500 senior airport executives from across the world are expected to attend the Airports Council International’s biggest annual trade show—ACI Airport Exchange—at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre from December 5 to 7, this year.
The trade show is one of the first major global events to be held in Muscat’s brand new facilities, and forms a central component of the commemorations leading up to the opening of the new Muscat International Airport.
Trade association
ACI is the international trade association of 1,940 airports and OAMC Chief Executive, Sheikh Aimen Ahmed Al Hosni, serves on the Governing Board. The executives are expected to examine the new $1.8 billion world-class facilities at Muscat International Airport, according to
a statement.
ACI Airport Exchange Muscat also includes a free-to-attend exhibition of over 50 international enterprises.
The presence of a large portion of the world’s airport community in Muscat also provides a unique networking opportunity for local Omani businesses to secure new international markets, as well as to become partners in the execution and delivery of the new airports.
“There is an open invitation to attend the exhibition to all Omani enterprises with an interest in becoming more involved with air transport in Oman, and elsewhere,” the statement said.
The organisers of ACI Airport Exchange, together with the OAMC host, have assembled 120 expert speakers from around the world to share strategies for success across four intensive conference streams: Airport Operations, Security, Airport Development, and Digital Innovation.
This will be crowned by a “Middle East Masterclass” of 10 airport CEOs and airport leaders from the region, including keynote presentations from Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Amman, Qatar and Istanbul, led by the OAMC CEO himself, Sheikh Aimen Ahmed Al Hosni.
“ACI Airport Exchange comes to Oman at a time of significant growth, which has been a catalyst for major airport development,” says Al Hosni.
“ACI Airport Exchange delivers a unique world-class conference, exhibition, and social programme, and I call on all Oman Airports Management Company’s partners to attend the event, whether as a delegate, sponsor, exhibitor or visitor, in order to benefit from the myriad networking and learning opportunities on offer.”
All delegates will be able to experience the new Muscat International Airport at first hand on an exclusive tour, offering the chance to learn from OAMC’s experience of development and operational readiness to become the new gateway to the Sultanate and the region’s entry point to global markets.
