Paris: Le Monde newspaper has described the Sultanate of Oman as the first tourism destination in the Gulf region in light of its distinct tourism capabilities.
In a report released, on Friday, the Le Monde said that the Sultanate is a modern state with deep -rooted traditions and heritage, customs, hospitality and fascinating natural scenes.
The Le Monde also stated that the Sultanate was famous for its old souqs, wadis, hills and oasis, tourism landmarks and sites.
The paper also spoke on the forts and castles in the Sultanate, which exceeded 500 depicting the deep-rooted history of Oman.
