Muscat: Indian School Muscat (ISM) hosted and won the overall championship trophy at the 11th Jhankaar Spectrum 2017, an inter-school panorama of cultural events, held on Thursday, at the school premises.
Being the host school, ISM graciously handed over the championship trophy to the first runners-up, Indian School Salalah.
Indian School Wadi Kabir was declared the second runners-up.
Sixteen Indian Schools from the Sultanate competed for the overall trophy, participating in a flurry of events.
The event commenced with lighting of the lamp by His Excellency Shri
Indra Mani Pandey, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman. Dr.
Thashli Thankachen, Convener, Indian School Muscat Management Committee (SMC), Mr. Shameer PTK, Chairperson-SMC (Sports), Dr. Rajeev Kumar Chauhan, Principal, Mr. Saji Nair, Senior Vice Principal (Admin) and Mr. Eskalin Gonsalves, Event Manager (Jhankaar Spectrum 2017) in
presence of other respected members of SMC, Advisor to the Principal, Vice Principals, Assistant Vice Principals, other dignitaries,
parents, teachers, students and well wishers.
Around 1460 students unveiled their talents as they competed in 28 events (Contemporary Dance, Indian Classical Dance, Street Play, Indian Folk Song, Western Choral Singing, Essay Writing in English, Western Keyboard, Flip in English, Graffiti Making, Rock Band, Indian Folk Dance, Bharatnatyam, Junk Music, Western Vocal, Poetry Recitation in English & Hindi, Elocution in English (Junior & Senior), Essay
Writing in English (Junior & Senior), Short Movie Making, T.V Ad Creation, Digital Photography & Album Making, Rangoli, Collage and Indian Light Vocal), at different venues within the school premises.
Qualified judges from areas of expertise adjudicated the performance of the students.
