Muscat: Two new hospitals are to open in Khasab and Suwaiq, the Ministry of Health has announced.

The new Khasab Hospital project will be built on an area of 100,000 square metres, with a capacity of around150 beds, while the new Suwaiq Hospital will be built on an area of more than 200,000 square metres, consisting of three floors and 260 beds.
Khasab Hospital will also include an outpatient department, a kidney unit, daycare unit, an intensive care unit for adults, a paediatric intensive care unit and a pre-term infants unit.
Both hospitals will also include burns and orthodontic units as well as a cardiac intensive care unit, an orthopaedic department, a maternity ward and operating theatres.
HE Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health, signed the agreements supporting Khasab and Suwaiq hospitals with the CEO of Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) and the Executive Manager ofCarillion Alawi.
“The cost of all the declared projects is more than OMR270 million, funded by the British Export Guarantee Agency," the minister announced.
