Muscat: Temperatures have dropped considerably in the Sultanate following heavy rain in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Muscat recorded a temperature of 16 degrees minimum on Tuesday, while temperatures at Jabel Shams dropped to 3 degrees.
“Rain and mountain snow from Turkey into Saudi Arabia and Iran over next few days. A few showers/storms may reach as far as UAE and maybe Oman late in the week,” Jason Nicholls, Senior Meteorologist and Manager of International Forecasting at AccuWeather.com said.
In its 24-hour outlook, the Meteorological Department said mainly clear skies over most of the governorates with advection of medium clouds over the northern parts of the Sultanate and chances of low level clouds over parts of governorates of Al Wusta and Dhofar.
