Vienna/Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Health (MH) has received the Diamond Prize for Excellence in Quality 2017.
The international award was given to the MoH at an official ceremony in Vienna, Austria, attended by representatives of some 54 institutions from across 43 countries .
The award, which was received on behalf of the ministry in Vienna, was announced by Dr. Ahmed Salim Al Mandhari, Director-General of the Quality Assurance Centre at the MoH, during the first forum for leadership and decision-making. “This award is a certificate of excellence given to service organisations in various disciplines and levels in different countries around the world by the institution according to the criteria.”
“The prize was awarded by the European Foundation for Quality Research at an official ceremony held in Vienna,” he added.
The award was given for the efforts made by the health system staff at all levels and the support given for supervision by senior officials in the ministry.
The forum provided a supportive environment to those interested in leadership and decision-making, with more than 300 participants showing interest in this matter.
The first leadership and decision-making forum was inaugurated today (Tuesday), under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, at the Sheraton Oman Hotel. The forum, organised by the MoH, was opened in the presence of the Highnesses, Excellencies, and Undersecretaries.
