SalamAir announces first direct flight to Iran

Muscat: Setting a strong pace for 2018, SalamAir has announced its first direct flight to Iran from the end of this month and plans to add another couple of destinations to the country soon.
Starting February 28, the Omani budget airline will operate two weekly flights to Shiraz with return ticket priced at OMR80.
“Despite its increasing popularity as a medical and tourism destination, Shiraz has remained an underserved route for years with no direct flights from Muscat,” Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir, said.
“In response to the public demand, we have made it a priority in our 2018 plans and are confident that our guests will enjoy our affordable prices and convenient timings,” he added.
Since its launch, SalamAir has kept a close eye on the market, analysing demands and identifying emerging trends that have allowed it to remain competitive in the current economic climate.
The airline also plans to launch flights to Tehran and Mashhad, as well as some other routes in Asia. These ambitious plans will be supported by the addition of three aircraft to the SalamAir fleet in 2018.

Today, our home-grown airline has connected over half a million passengers to more than eight destinations and we are looking forward to building on our success. SalamAir will be operating flights to Iran’s third largest city every Sunday and Wednesday, departing from Muscat at 12:50 and arriving at Shiraz International Airport at 13:50. In addition to Shiraz, the SalamAir network today consists of nine destinations, including Muscat, Salalah, Suhar, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, Karachi, Multan, and Sialkot.
