Miraah solar plant wins ‘best private sector project’ award

Muscat: Miraah, one of the world’s largest solar plants of any kind, won the ‘Best Private Sector Project’ award at the 7th edition of the Al Roya Economic Awards. The landmark project is being built in partnership between Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and GlassPoint Solar at the Amal oilfield in southern Oman. The win recognises the impact of Miraah in putting Oman on the global solar energy map, creating jobs and developing expertise in solar technology innovation, project deployment and manufacturing. — Times News Service
