ROP issues advisory regarding safety measures during cyclone Mekunu

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued an advisory regarding safety measures when cyclone Mekunu hits Oman.
Here are 11 points that ROP shared:
1. Listen to warnings issued by official sources, channels for your own safety.
2. In case of strong winds firmly shut the windows and doors of your house.
3. Store your property in a safe, closed place
4. Always carry a transistor radio to follow up on the weather conditions in case of power failure
5. Park your vehicle in a safe place and make sure your fuel tank is full.
6. Stay inside your house and don't venture out during the storm or when it rains.
7. Don't go towards/near the sea. Follow up on weather conditions and warnings issued by official sources.
8. Fishermen should keep their boats tied in safe places.
9. In case of evacuation orders, pay attention to the instructions without any delay.
10. Do not approach power poles or loose wires.
11. If you call for help, wait until an emergency team arrives. They may take time to locate your place.
