Nine Australians were honoured in Canberra on Tuesday for their services in helping to rescue 12 boys and their soccer coach from a cave in Northern Thailand.
All nine received the Order of Australia medal, with seven being awarded Bravery Medals.
An anaesthetist and cave diver, and a retired veterinarian and cave diver were awarded with the Star of Courage, Australia's second-highest bravery decoration.
The rescue involved divers and volunteers from all over the world and ended on July 10 when the last of the group was brought to safety from inside the cave.
