Expat arrested for scamming citizen of OMR160,000 in Oman

Muscat: An expat of “African” nationality has been arrested for robbing an Omani citizen of OMR160,000, the Royal Oman Police has announced.
Officials said that that the accused had convinced the victim that he had the ability to double money.
The Department of Criminal Inquiry and Investigation, led by the Royal Oman Police in the Al Dhahirah Governorate arrested the man in the Wilayat of Ibri.
According to a police source, "The defendant extracted money from the victim in the Wilayat of Ibri by claiming that he had the ability to double his money. After that the victim voluntarily handed over money to the defendant."
Police officials seized a set of bank receipts for financial transfers of different amounts relating to fraud from the accused's house.
