Muscat: A fire that threatened to engulf vital farmland was successfully tackled by locals and firefighters
The area, in the wilayat of Taqah in Dhofar, is currently one of the most important for livestock owners.
A statement issued by PACDA read, "the Department of Civil Defence and Ambulance in the Dhofar governorate managed to extinguish the fire."
No injuries were recorded.
PACDA has called on citizens and residents not to directly set fire to weeds when on outings, as well as to ensure that fires are put out before they leave the area, in addition to not throwing cigarette butts on the grass.
