Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4424.86 points, up by 0.06 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 601.50 points, up by 0.03 per cent. Bank Sohar was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Nat. Pharmaceutical Ind. up by 1.59 per cent while the top loser was Muscat Gases which closed lower by 3.42 per cent.
A total number of 215 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR704,000 with more than 5.12 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 6 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR16,000 followed by Omani investors for OMR3,000 while foreign investors remained as net sellers for OMR19,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.06 per cent at 6925.02 points. Ahli Bank was up by 1.33 per cent. Al Sharqia Investment Holding and Bank Sohar was down by 2.13 per cent and 0.79 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.03 per cent to close at 5320.37 points. Nat. Pharmaceutical Ind. was up by 1.59 per cent. Galfar Engineering was down by 0.99 per cent.
Services Index gained 0.05 per cent to close at 2400.53 points. Renaissance Services and Ooredoo were up by 1.02 per cent and 0.37 per cent respectively. Muscat Gases, OIFC and Omantel were down by 3.42 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively.
