Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4459.57 points, down by 0.17 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 607.47 points, down by 0.11 per cent. Gulf Invest Services Holding was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Muscat City Desalination up by 3.31 per cent while the top loser was Al Omaniya Financial Ser. which closed lower by 9.79 per cent.
A total number of 259 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR899,000 with more than 5.84 million shares changing hands. Out of 26 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 11 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR32,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR2,000 while foreign investors remained as net sellers for OMR34,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.26 per cent at 6959.60 points. Al Madina Takaful was up by 1.01 per cent. Al Omaniya Financial Ser., Al Anwar Holding, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Bank Sohar and Bank Muscat were down by 9.79 per cent, 1.94 per cent, 1.23 per cent, 0.79 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.35 per cent to close at 5336.48 points. There were no gainers on Wednesday. Oman Fisheries, Oman Cement, Galfar Engineering and Raysut Cement were down by 1.32 per cent, 1.28 per cent, 1.01 per cent and 0.94 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.13 per cent to close at 2390.91 points. Muscat City Desalination, Ooredoo and Dhofar Generating Company were up by 3.31 per cent, 1.44 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively. Muscat Gases and Renaissance Services were down by 2.16 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively.
